Dan Allison completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and completing coursework in music education and choral conducting.
Having directed and sung in numerous ensembles, ranging from modern a cappella and barbershop to classical choral and church choirs, performing in and working with vocal chamber groups are both his passion and his specialty.
Dan joined the Barbershop Harmony Society in 2001, and is a founding member of several well-known past BHS Northeastern District quartets, including NED Collegiate Champion Quartet Storrs Four as well as 2016 District Champion Quartet Drive. He was fortunate enough to travel the world for many years as a founding member of the professional a cappella quartet, Blend Tech, while performing aboard several luxury cruise liners for Celebrity Cruises.
Currently residing in central Massachusetts, Mr. Allison, LCSW is a therapist specializing in working with emerging adults who have ADHD and Autism. He currently sings baritone with Summer Street, perennial Northeastern District Medalists and BHS International Quarterfinalists, and is thrilled to be working with the Silk City Chorus again, this time in a directorial capacity.
